Karen Smith Memorial Scholarship of Excellence
The Karen Smith Memorial Scholarship of Excellence was created by the Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church Vessels of Worship (VOW). VOW is an adult liturgical dance ministry - Created to Praise. Karen had a strong passion for education. She knew education was a catalyst for bettering people, families, and communities. This scholarship was established to honor Karen's memory, creativity, dedication, and love of learning.
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
- High School Senior accepted to a two-year or four-year accredited college/university (limited to Harrisburg Area High Schools only).
- College Student enrolled in a two-year or four-year accredited college/university.
- Student must have a 2.50 Grade Point Average (GPA) or higher.
- Applicant must submit two (2) letters of recommendation (counselor, professor/teacher, clergy, organizational leader and/or employer).
- Completed scholarship application must include a copy of your official transcript and a wallet size photo (photo is not returnable).
Scholarship application period is February 23, 2026 - April 10, 2026

Scholarship may be for books and/or tuition assistance.
