For over a century, the Whoop-Up Days Parade has marked the start of Whoop-Up Days. Showcasing the individuals, businesses, and organizations that make a difference in our community, the parade celebrates the people, places and things that make Lethbridge a great place be.

The 2026 Whoop-Up Days Parade is Tuesday, August 18.

The Whoop-Up Days Parade Marshal is a proud reflection of our community—an individual or group recognized for their outstanding contributions and alignment with the annual parade theme.

New in 2026, the Whoop-Up Days Parade Marshal will be nominated by community members and chosen by a selection committee. Nominated and chosen not just for accomplishments, but for the impact they’ve made, the Parade Marshal represents our shared stories and deep-rooted connections that bring us together.

Leading with pride and heart, the Whoop-Up Days Parade Marshal is an iconic tradition that celebrates well-deserving community champions.

Nominations are open until March 13.

Midway Magic celebrates the timeless charm of the classic Whoop-Up Days Midway — bright, engaging, fun, and inviting. For decades, the midway has been a pillar of Whoop-Up Days, adding play, wonder, excitement, and entertainment to southern Alberta. More than rides and games, the midway represents connection, excitement, and the spirit of community that defines Whoop-Up Days.

Like the midway, the Parade Marshal brings a sense of community and fun wherever they go. They are creative, inspiring, intuitive, and vibrant. The 2026 Parade Marshal will exemplify leadership, imagination, confidence, and inclusivity. They bring our community together and create spaces where others feel welcomed, valued, and part of something bigger.
Whoop-Up Days Parade Marshal Requirements
- Share any requested marketing materials or promotional content needed to tell the Parade Marshal story.
- Take part in a media event to officially announce the Parade Marshal and highlight aligned community initiatives.
- Lead the excitement as you kick off the Whoop-Up Days Parade on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
- Join us for one evening of engagement and celebration at the Lethbridge & District Pro Rodeo.
