An alternative pencil is defined as anything that provides a student with access to all 26 letters of the alphabet for use in writing. Alternative pencils were created for students who are unable to hold a traditional pencil or physically manipulate a standard keyboard. Do you have a student that could benefit from an alternative pencil? Join us as Kaley Sweeney, MOT, OTR/L shares her expertise and we:
- Discuss steps for assessing for correct alternative pencils
- Explore how to incorporate alternative pencils into literacy instruction
- Make examples of Alternative Pencils to use tomorrow!
