Join us to celebrate the ancient tradition of jumping over bonfires on the "Eve before Wednesday" to bid adieu to the cold of winter, and welcome the warmth of spring, Nowruz (Persian New Year)!

All ages are welcome to this FREE, family-friendly, alcohol-free festival.

WE PROVIDE SPACE ONLY

ALL VENDORS MUST USE A CANOPY OR POP-UP TENT

THIS EVENT IS RAIN OR SHINE AND NO REFUNDS OR DISCOUNTS ARE
MADE FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER

All spaces are 10x10 only.
Electric power is not provided.
- If accepted, you will be sent an invoice for payment. - Subject to approval.

ALL PARTICIPANTS:

- Cancellation Fee: 50% through Feb 14, 2026
- 4% Card fee will be added for electronic payments - you will have the option to write a check if you prefer
- No refunds after Feb 14, 2026
- Space forfeited if not occupied by 4pm
- No sharing of booths
- No amplified sound
- No loud generators. (Quiet generators like the Honda EU 3000 are OK)
- Setup will be 3pm-5pm
- Provide your own chairs, tables, booth, lights, batteries.  Minimal electricity MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE - please plan on providing your own.

FOOD ONLY DETAILS:

- Detailed diagrams must be provided to get a permit.
- The Health Dept. requires you to have an enclosed, screened food booth or an enclosed vending machine/cart/truck. If you have any prep or cooking behind your booth, other than a BBQ, you must set up an additional enclosed prep booth. No rentals are provided. Provide a fire extinguisher.
- Begin set up after 3:00 p.m. to be open for business at 6 p.m. Booths remain open until 10:00 p.m. The street is reopened at 11 p.m.  You MUST be off the street by 11PM or you will be charged a fine by the City of Berkeley.
- City of Berkeley food vending permits will need to be submitted by Feb 10th pending approval DO NOT SUBMIT TO THE CITY, but to the event organizer.  Pricing for permits - $182 for cooking / $44 for prepackaged / $98 for dessert or beverage (No cooking)

HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT
 
Our company and I hereby Release, Indemnify and Hold Harmless Persian Center, Persian New Year Festival, and the City of Berkeley, their officers, members, agents, employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, and advertisers, from any and all liabilities, costs, damages and expenses, including reasonable legal fees and court costs, and worker’s compensation claims arising out of the participation and performance of myself or any person(s) authorized by me or my organization, to transact business, volunteer, or participate in this event on my behalf. I understand that no insurance coverage is bound or in force. I accept full responsibility for any medical incident or injury to myself or any person(s) conducting business on my behalf.
I have read and accept all the terms stipulated in this contract. The information I have provided in this application is true and correct. I further attest that I have read and understand the Participation Requirements included herein and agree that I and any persons associated with my participation in the Persian New Year event will abide by these guidelines at all times.
