  • The Ridges Sanctuary Backpack Adventure Camp 2026 Parent Agreement

We at The Ridges Sanctuary want you to know that we value the safety and wellbeing of you and your child(ren).  We continuously work with Public Health officials and continue to follow CDC Guidelines for contagious illnesses to ensure our protocols are up to date. For this reason, we ask that you take time to read through the following statements that we have put into place to keep everyone healthy and safe.
  • Illness

If you or your child meets any of the following criteria, please do not visit or drop-off a child at our program:
  • 1. Your child has a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea. Fever reducing medication may not be used when determining a child’s health. Your child should be fever-free, vomit free, and diarrhea free for 48 hours before returning to camp.
  • 2. We also request that you keep your child at home if they are experiencing any symptoms of a contagious illness. Our goal is to avoid spreading illness of any kind to the children and adults in our program, which means keeping sick children and adults at home. This includes but is not limited to any ONE of the following symptoms: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, diarrhea or vomiting, loss of taste or smell, atypical headache, muscle pain or body aches, sore throat, unusual fatigue, nausea, or congestion/ runny nose. This does not apply to individuals with a doctor’s note stating that the child does not have a contagious illness. *
  • * Please let us know of any chronic illnesses or conditions your child has on their enrollment form prior to the start of camp, including allergies. If your child has any symptoms of illness that we were not previously made aware of, they will be sent home for the safety of the other campers.
  • If your child meets any of the above criteria, please contact Zane Wulliger (920)-839-2802 extension 110 or zane@ridgessanctuary.org as soon as possible.

  • Drop Off

When picking up or dropping off a child in our car line, please wait inside the car and a teacher/staff person will assist you. Our car line will enter the Overflow Parking Lot at the North Campus off County Rd. Q. To get to the North Campus, drive North from Baileys Harbor for .5 miles. Turn right onto County Q and turn into the second driveway on the right side of the road. Continue through the parking lot and veer right. A teacher or staff person will help your child exit the car and grab materials while you sign our drop-off form. You will be asked a few sign-in questions, including if your child has any symptoms of illness.  We will need to know a phone number where you can be reached and who is picking up your child. Be sure to apply bug spray and sunscreen at home.  You will exit at the north end back onto County Rd. Q.
  • *Please stay in your car for the entirety of drop off. Staying in your vehicle ensures the drop off process is as quick as possible and reduces stress on both camp staff and campers.
  • Pick Up

Pick up will follow the same procedure as drop-off.  It is important that you remain in the car for everyone’s safety and for our car line to run smoothly. While camp staff will make every effort to facilitate a prompt pick-up, families should be prepared for potential delays. A valid government-issued photo ID is REQUIRED to pick up your child. Please note we cannot release your child to anyone other than a parent/guardian or someone you have previously authorized as the pickup person.
  • If your child becomes ill during the program:

If your child becomes ill while in our program, you will be asked to pick up your child as quickly as possible.  Please have plans in place to ensure you or a designated person is available if this should occur.
  • Weather

Should the forecast call for weather (pouring rain, thunderstorm, or wind advisory) that would present unsafe conditions to be outdoors, camp activities will be moved to inside the cabins.  We will notify you of changes of camp plans via email as early as possible.  Keeping your child safe is our top priority.
  • Air Quality

If the Air Quality Index is at an "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" level or above, Ridges staff will notify families of changes to camp plans. Please let us know if your child has a preexisting condition, such as asthma, that could be affected by poor air quality or wildfire smoke.
  • We thank you for helping us keep you, your children, and our teachers safe during this time.  If you have any questions, please contact Zane Wulliger at 920-839-2802 ext. 110 or zane@ridgessanctuary.org
