Climbing—whether indoors or outdoors—is an inherently risky activity. By signing this document, you acknowledge and accept all associated risks and agree to release Stone Grown Climbing LLC, its owners, coaches, employees, contractors, and affiliates from liability to the fullest extent permitted by NY law.
1. Assumption of Inherent Risks
I understand that climbing, bouldering, belaying, slacklining, conditioning, equipment use, training, and any related activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to:
Falls from height
Equipment failure
Rockfall, loose holds, or structural hazards
Weather conditions
Scrapes, fractures, dislocations, sprains, concussions, or other injuries
Actions, inactions, or negligence of other participants
I voluntarily choose to participate and accept full responsibility for my own safety.
2. Release of Liability & Indemnification
To the fullest extent allowed by the laws of the States of New York and Connecticut, I hereby waive, release, and discharge Stone Grown Climbing LLC from any and all claims or liabilities for personal injury, property damage, or wrongful death arising from participation, including those caused by ordinary negligence.
I additionally agree to indemnify and hold harmless Stone Grown Climbing LLC from any claims brought by or on behalf of myself, my family, my estate, or any third party arising from my participation.
3. Medical Fitness & Emergency Care
I certify that I am physically able to participate in climbing activities and have disclosed any relevant medical conditions. I authorize Stone Grown Climbing LLC staff or contractors to administer or obtain emergency medical care at my expense if necessary.
4. Reporting Discomfort
I agree that any discomfort, distress, or uncomfortable feelings will be immediately brought to the attention of the coach.
5. Equipment Responsibility
I agree to use all climbing equipment appropriately and inspect personal or provided equipment before each use. I understand that improper equipment use increases the risk of injury.
6. Online Coaching & Remote Instruction
I understand that online coaching and remote instruction have inherent limitations and that Stone Grown Climbing LLC cannot directly supervise my environment, equipment, or participation. I accept full responsibility for selecting a safe location, using appropriate equipment, exercising sound judgment, and stopping any activity that feels unsafe or exceeds my abilities. I acknowledge that technology interruptions may occur and agree that the release of liability and indemnification provisions of this waiver apply equally to all online coaching services.
