  • KCS AAPI Art Competition Spring 2026 Application Form

  • Korean Community Services (KCS) is hosting its second annual AAPI Art Competition, open to 1st to 12th-grade students across New York State. This competition provides a unique opportunity for AAPI students to express their identity through art.

    The theme for this year's competition is: "My Legacy, My Hope, My Future."

    All submissions must be original, created entirely by the student without help from parents, friends, etc. The use of AI-generated content, fan art, traced or plagiarized work is strictly prohibited. KCS holds the right to withdraw and disqualify any applicants at any point in the competition should they violate these rules.

    Please note: After submitting the online application, applicants must drop off the physical artwork at KCS Headquarters. This can be done either in person or via mail-in.

    Online Submission deadline (Application Form): Friday, April 24th, 2026, by 5:00 PM (EST).

    Artwork Submission Deadline (In-person or Mail): Friday, May 1st, 2026, by 5:00 PM (EST).

  • Eligibility Requirement

  • This competition is exclusively open to students of AAPI descent residing in New York State. Only applicants who meet this requirement may proceed with the application.

  • Artwork Submission Process

  • Artwork Submission Deadline: Friday, May 1st, 2026, by 5:00 PM (EST).

    Applicants are welcome to submit their artwork in-person or by mail.

    If you are submitting in-person, please drop off your physical artwork at:

    Office hours are from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Please note that submissions will not be accepted on weekends.

  • I certify that the information provided in this application is true and accurate. I confirm that the submitted artwork is my original creation. I understand that providing false information or submitting artwork that is not my own may result in disqualification from the KCS AAPI Art Competition.

    I grant Korean Community Services (KCS) permission to display my artwork and use it for promotional purposes, including but not limited to the KCS AAPI Art Competition Showcase & Ceremony, online galleries, and marketing materials. I understand that KCS reserves the right to make minor grammatical or typographical corrections to my submitted materials, such as my artist statement or title of artwork, for clarity or consistency, while maintaining the integrity of my submission.

    Media Consent & Release
    I grant Korean Community Services (KCS) permission to photograph, record, and/or film me and my artwork during the KCS AAPI Art Competition and related events. These materials may be used for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, websites, printed materials, and other KCS publications. I understand that no financial compensation will be provided for the use of these materials.

    Liability for Mail-In Submission Process
    I understand that Korean Community Services (KCS) will not be held responsible for any damage or loss of artwork during transit. This includes artwork delivered before or after working hours. It is also my responsibility to ensure that my artwork arrives at or before the deadline of Friday, May 1st, 2026, by 5:00 PM (EST).

    For participants under 18
    I am the parent/guardian of the participant and grant consent for their participation and inclusion in media coverage, as stated above.
