PRIVACY & DATA COLLECTION
- We must collect and report your My Aged Care ID to the government's Data Exchange system. This is required by law under the Aged Care Act 2024 and is NOT optional
- Caura uses AI-assisted and generative tools to help us with administrative tasks
- We maintain full compliance with all Commonwealth privacy and data protection laws when using these technologies.
Answer: AI chat interfaces are being added into most software products; this includes Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc), it also includes our internal systems that communicate with them. These systems do not have permission to access or modify your data in our database. We have our admin staff check the accuracy of data compiled or generated using these tools. We take your privacy seriously and maintain strict access controls to safeguard your data.
DEX refers to the Data Exchange, a service run by the Department of Social Services. This is how we report the work we do in the community to the federal government who funds us.
The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing administer the My Aged Care portal & CHSP. They have your data, but they can’t share your personally identifiable data to DEX without your consent. We do report data including your Aged Care Number for each session we deliver, but your name and address are not shared by default. This is mandatory under the new Aged Care Act 2024.
The good news is that this is entirely optional, you can ignore it and nothing will change with your current service.
