    What is ISR?

ISR’s unique results are achieved through fully customized, safe and effective, one-on-one lessons with only your child and the Instructor in the water. What your child will learn, and the way he or she will learn it, is what makes ISR so different from traditional swimming lessons. Always putting safety first, ISR emphasizes competence, which leads to confidence, and provides the foundation for a lifetime of enjoyment in and around the water. All students, even those as young as 6 months old, learn the fundamental ISR skill of rolling onto their backs to float, rest, and breathe. Infants and toddlers who are not yet walking well will learn to maintain this position until help can reach them, and it's just as important for our older students as they incorporate more swimming skills. As toddlers and young children gain more physical skills on land, they are ready to learn more skills in the water as well. ISR teaches children to swim a short distance, rotate onto their back to a floating position, and then turn over to continue the sequence of swimming and floating until they can reach safety at the steps, side of the pool, or shoreline. ISR is a 6 week course for first time swimmers, after they completed the swim, float, swim sequence a refresher course is suggested each year.

$200- Due today, when booking your time

$150-Due on the 1st day of swim lessons

*If you are registering your child for refresher swim lessons there is a yearly $30 fee to ISR. You will be sent a link via email.

    2.    Time Schedule- You should arrive at the pool 10 minutes before your time slot and have your child ready for lessons at his/her scheduled time. Our schedule is very full and my ability to stay on time is contingent on our clients being on time. If you are late, I will do my best to fit you in but it cannot be guaranteed. When your child has completed his/her lesson, please take the necessary steps to dry off, allow for recovery, redress and safely exit the pool area so that the next students may arrive and get set up for their scheduled lesson

    3.    Attendance & Cancellation Policy- Consistency is crucial when learning survival-swimming skills. Bringing your child everyday will increase the rate of progress and retention of skills. You are paying for a time slot and it is important that you adhere to the attendance policy as there is most likely another student waiting for your child’s time slot. Only lessons cancelled by the Instructor (for Instructor illness, weather, scheduled vacation, etc.) will be scheduled for a makeup day. A lesson credit will be given for a child’s prolonged illness of more than 3 consecutive days. If you need special arrangements or have a planned vacation; please discuss this with me prior to scheduling lessons. We do not give credit for NATIONAL HOLIDAYS. As with other days missed by the instructor, we will add additional days should your child still need it after the 6 weeks of lessons are complete. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about our attendance policy.

    4.    Daily BUDS- BUDS stands for bowel, urine, diet and sleep. This daily information is required and must be discussed with the instructor before each lesson. This information is essential as your instructor uses the information, provided by you, to insure that each lesson is custom tailored to your child’s specific needs for that day in addition to ensuring the safest possible lesson for your child. Please make sure you discuss any unusual issues and/or concerns with me PRIOR to the lesson.

    5.    Diet- Please do not give your child any food or drink at least 2 hours prior to lessons. No dairy/milk products for at least 3 hours prior to lessons. No one works well on a full stomach and your child will be working hard. No APPLES OR APPLE PRODUCTS, pineapples, papayas, passion fruit, peaches, spinach, honey, or celery in any form for the entire duration of ISR lessons. The foods listed in the PRB can cause the buildup of gases in the abdomen leading to distention and discomfort to your child.

    6.    Attire - Children who are not potty-trained for at least 6 months MUST wear reusable swim diapers during lessons without exception.. Disposable swim diapers are NOT accepted in any combination. If your child is not in proper swim attire, he/she will not swim that day. **Please keep your child’s fingernails trimmed and long hair pulled back.

    7.    Towels- ISR requires 3 towels per child every day, 2 towels to place on the deck upon which your child will be placed after the lesson and 1 to dry the child with. This policy is in place to prevent the transmission of germs on the pool deck. At the conclusion of the lesson, your child will be placed on his/her left side to allow for air release and proper rest. Please do not leave your child unassisted, as there may be some minor temperature fatigue as well as a need to briefly rest following the lesson. Safety before, during and after your child’s lessons is a priority and your ongoing compliance is appreciated.

    8.    Sibling/Child Supervision- It is important that you do not allow siblings or others in your party to enter the water environment during lessons. This greatly interferes with everyone’s concentration, including your child who may be working hard at the time. If you have additional children in the pool area, it is recommended that they bring an activity to quietly occupy their time for the 15-20 minutes you are at the pool. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and will only add to my own efforts in being as efficient and as safe as possible. If you allow your child or any child in your care to play on the property, you or your designated agent must take full responsibility for any and all injuries that may occur due to said activity and hold harmless the property owners.

    9.    Adverse Weather- Unless it is thundering, lightning, we will swim. Because of the volatile weather in Hattiesburg, I will try to have lessons even if it means waiting a few minutes for a local storm to pass. (If the weather is too severe, I will call to cancel the lessons. If you don’t receive a call, please come. You are welcome to call but if there is no answer, the instructor is likely in the pool.) Please make sure your instructor knows the best way to contact you in the event of a cancellation. Weather is an inherent risk for every lessons. You will be credited for rain days, at the conclusion of the lessons, only if attendance is consistent and your child is not yet skilled.

    10. Illness- If your child must miss a lesson unexpectedly, please call/text your instructor so that I won’t worry about why your child has not come to the pool. If a week or more is missed due to illness, please contact me as soon as is feasible so that arrangements can be made to hold or reschedule your child’s time slot. If your child misses lessons for 3 days or is placed on medication, lessons will be put on hold and you will be required to update your medical information for the ISR Medical Team to review to ensure no problems could arise in lessons due to these events. If your child is ill or must miss a lesson or two throughout the lesson series, the lessons must be paid for.

You will receive all this information via a PDF after signing up. You will need to sign/initial the PDF and bring it for the first day of lessons.

Payments include Venmo, Paypal, and Cash. The initial deposit needs to be paid via venmo or paypal immediatly after signing up for a time slot. If you do not pay your initial $200 deposit after 48 hours your slot will open back up. CASH is preffered for the second and/or the third payments.
