We are currently seeking candidates for both Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions, and we encourage anyone interested to apply. Please note that you can save your progress and return to the application at any time if needed. Just scroll to the bottom of the form for your options.

Once we receive your completed application, you will receive a confirmation email. Rest assured, we will be in touch with you following our review. Our plan is to carry out Interviews in early June for Elite and Tiered Hockey Coaches.

Deadlines:

AAA - U15 AAA ASAP

AA/Tiered Head Coaches - May 1, 2026

U7 and U9 Head Coaches - September 1, 2026

U11-U15 City League Head Coaches - September 1, 2026

Assistant Coaches - Submit ASAP (A/C's will not be interviewed but will be pre-screened prior to being allowed on ice with team.)

This is a new Program and if you have a current Respect In Sport Activity Leader it stays in effect until it expires.

Coach Qualifications

Each division has different required coaching courses. I have submitted the Vulnerable Sector Check to the Association in the past 3-years or have submitted my receipt to RDMH that it is being processed by the RCMP.I have a current Respect in Sport - Activity Leader or am willing to take it.
I authorize Red Deer Minor Hockey to conduct any necessary investigation to verify my credentials, qualifications, and character to meet the coaching requirements. Should I be selected, I further agree to abide by the Constitutions, Bylaws, and Policies of Red Deer Minor Hockey, Hockey Alberta, and Hockey Canada. I understand that I will not be eligible to coach until a valid VSC (Vulnerable Sector Check) is received and or the application has been submitted to the RCMP, and the required courses are completed by the requirement date of November 15, 2025. I will support the Association's commitment to fostering a positive hockey culture including respect of officials and opponents.*
