  • Part One: The General HSE Orientation

    Have the following been reviewed with the short duration worker:

  • 1. Working safely is a condition of access, and of the disciplinary procedures associated with failure to adhere to this or other project site requirements?*
  • This project adheres to Nordic PCL's Safety Manual, EM385-1-1, HIOSH, and Your Company's Safety Program.  The most stringent will apply.

  • 2. Legislative jurisdictional HSE requirements?*
  • PCL's policies and expectations for behavior, ethics, and work performance are outlined within this document.

  • 3. An overview of PCL’s policies, practices and procedures?*
  • The site plot plan is located on the wall next to the door.

  • 4. The Project Site Plot Plan?*
  • Regular working hours are 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.

  • 5. Regular hours of work, lunch breaks, and coffee breaks?*
  • 6. The Pre-Job Safety Instruction (PSI) program and the following steps been explained and reviewed?*
  • 7. The proper selection, care and use of the following PPE? The required PPE for this jobsite is listed below.*
  • Please comply with all HSE posted signage.

  • 8. HSE signs and compliance?*
  • Deposit all trash in designated trash receptacles.  Reference locations on the site plot plan.

  • 9. Housekeeping requirements?*
  • 10. Specific job hazards for this site location are listed below. They are subject to but not limited to:*
  • A competent person is required for scaffold use.

  • 11. Scaffold requirements?*
  • Type 1A or better fiberglass ladders only.

  • 12. Ladder requirements?*
  • If you remove a guardrail, please replace it immediately.

  • 13. Guardrail requirements?*
  • 100% tie-off is required when working at six feet or above.

  • 14. Project fall protection plan requirements?*
  • 15. Intoxicating beverages and drugs are prohibited on the worksite.*
  • It is your right to refuse any work you feel is unsafe.  Report any misconduct or harassment violations to the Nordic PCL management team immediately.

  • 16. Have the following items been reviewed?
  • Three blasts from an air horn = emergency evacuation procedure.  Meet at muster point located in jobsite parking lot.

  • 17. The emergency response/evacuation procedures?*
  • Report all injuries, near misses, vehicle damage, and property damage to NPCL immediately.

  • 18. The incident reporting procedures?*
  • STOP. Please hand the phone/table to the Nordic PCL employee facilitating this orientation. Do not sign below if you are not a Nordic PCL Project Team member.
