  • Important: Please read this statement and sign if you agree:

    • Meeting minimum qualifications does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
    • As a student in the Honors Program, I consent to being enrolled in a Canvas course that provides essential information about the program and that includes safeguards for my privacy.
    • As a student in the Honors Program, I understand that I am joining a community of scholars who are committed to excellence in the learning process. I have read and will abide by the Cabrillo College Student Rights and Responsibilities and this Honors Code of Conduct. The honors program assumes that all students will pursue their studies with integrity and honesty; moreover, incidents of academic dishonesty, or other acts that demonstrate a lack of integrity, are not tolerated and may lead to dismissal from the program at the discretion of the Director and Lead Faculty.
    • The Honors Transfer Program Advisory Committee has concluded that the use of AI-generated content is not appropriate for honors-level research, and it should not be used except in cases specifically allowed by faculty in honors courses. I will use corrective AI, like Grammarly, only when allowed by individual faculty and indicate this use through direct communication with my instructor or through a note in my assignment.
    • Evidence of academic dishonesty will result in dismissal from the program, along with a report to the Dean of Student Services. I understand that in joining the Honors Transfer Program, I am participating in a cohort which will provide opportunities for small group interaction in and out of class. Respect for other students’ and my own privacy and safety is paramount. This includes respect for the appropriate sharing and use of personal contact information to fulfill the academic requirements of the program and not for unwelcome social interaction.
    • I hereby acknowledge that any action on my part which jeopardizes another student’s privacy or safety will result in a formal report to the college’s Dean of Student Services, and subsequent action will result in my removal from the Honors Transfer Program. Likewise, I understand that should I feel at any time that my privacy or safety, or that of my classmates, is in jeopardy, I can and will immediately report to my instructor, counselor, the lead Honors Faculty, or  Honors Director.
    • I have read and understand the application. I certify agreement with this principle and promise that the information I have provided is correct and the reflection of my own original work.
