The Alpha Alpha Lambda Omega (AALO) Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Scholarship Program was established to ensure professional and personal development for continuous growth, advancement, and success through education, community involvement and mentoring.
The AALO Scholarship Program awards scholarships annually to deserving students who will be attending an establishment of higher learning.
Each year, the AALO Scholarship Program Committee determines the number and amount of scholarships awarded as funding warrants. This year, three (3) - $1000 scholarships will be awarded to Graduating High School Seniors.
ELIGIBILITY
- Applicants must be a resident of Prince George's County.
- High School Student applicants for the AALO Scholarship Program must be planning to attend a post-secondary institution or technical vocational/trade school. The applicant must have a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA (4.00 scale). Both female and male students are eligible to apply.
AWARD CRITERIA
Recipients of the scholarships are chosen through a process that evaluates the following areas:
- Written Essay
- Grade Point Average
- Community/School Involvement
- Recommendation Letter
