The Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church (GMBC)Women’s Fellowship Ministry created this scholarship in honor and memory of Ms. Ethel Rogers-Grundy. She served as President of this ministry for over eight (8) years. Ms. Rogers-Grundy provided outstanding Leadership, Dedication, and Commitment to this women’s ministry and the community.

Ms. Ethel Rogers-Grundy was an Educator and Business Professional. She was born in Macciesfield, North Carolina. Ms. Rogers-Grundy was a graduate of St. Augustine University in Raleigh, North Carolina. She earned a Master of Education Degree from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.

Ms. Ethel Rogers-Grundy’s career included over twenty (20) years as a High School Teacher and College Professor in the District of Columbia. At the age of thirty-seven, she abruptly changed careers and became a Business Manager with the Franklin Financial Services.
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant must be an active member of Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church.
- Applicant must be a current High School Senior entering an accredited college/university as a full-time college student; or College Student enrolled in a two or four-year accredited college/university.
- College Student enrolled in a two-year or four-year accredited college/university.
- Applicant’s study/intended study must be in the area of Education or Business Management.
- Student must have a 2.50 Grade Point Average (GPA) or higher.
- Applicant must submit two (2) letters of recommendation (counselor, professor/teacher, clergy, organizational leader and/or employer).
- Completed scholarship application must include a copy of your official transcript.
Scholarship application period is February 23, 2026 - April 17, 2026.

Scholarship may be for books and/or tuition assistance.
