Student Performer Interest Form - 2026
  • Student Performer Interest Form

Please complete this form if you’re interested in performing at one of the USU’s venues — including Courtyard Café, Hermann’s Bar, Manning Bar, and a range of special events such as International Fair, Creative Month, Welcome Fest, and more. We ask that you fill out the form as accurately as possible, as the information you provide helps us match you with the most suitable performance opportunities based on your music style, band size, and technical needs.
  • We understand that music doesn’t always fit neatly into a single genre. If this is the case, there is another dedicated section below that you may fill out.

Another reason we ask for this information is that, as we move into 2026, we want to make sure we’re pairing our events thoughtfully with your music. Our aim is to create the best possible experience for both you and the audience.

  • If your act is modular with different possible lineups, please select all options that apply to your live setup. For example: if your group usually performs as a duo but you also offer solo sets, select both “Solo Performance” and “Duo Performance.”

  • The USU has some limitations on the equipment we can provide at certain venues. For performances at Courtyard Café, Hermann’s Bar, or pop-up locations around campus (ISL Lounge, Easter Avenue, etc), our setup is more restricted in terms of what we can supply, transport, and set up. For these performances, please ensure you bring any equipment we do not provide. If you have any special requirements, you’ll need to supply those yourself.

Please review the list of available equipment as it has been updated coming into 2026. You can Find that HERE.

Note: For Manning Bar Band Nights, the setup aligns with industry standards and includes a full mixing desk, lighting, and backline hire. Please note that a different booking process applies for these events.

  • You’re welcome to leave this blank if you’re unsure. The USU pays above industry standard for its gig opportunities, and any rates are discussed openly and fairly. We want to make sure performers feel respected, valued, and appropriately compensated for their work—there’s no expectation to undervalue yourself.

  • For Context, we organize a range of events throughout the year, each celebrating different communities and groups withing our USU and wider USYD family. We love to use these opportunities to platform aligned artists. (This is not mandatory for being selected to play at these events)
