Parent-Directed Home Education
- Parents are responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing all core subjects.
- Teachers provide required supervision, support, and feedback in accordance with the Alberta Home Education Regulation.
- Parents are fully responsible for curriculum selection, learning resources, pacing, and assessment.
- Self-Directed High School: In accordance with Section 6 of the Alberta Home Education Regulation, students may earn high school credits while parents remain responsible for program planning, instruction, and assessment.
Shared Responsibility (Blended)
- Instructional responsibility is shared between parents and teachers.
- Parents teach selected courses at home and complete a Home Education Program Plan for those courses.
- Teachers provide instruction for designated subjects through the school’s online program.
- To meet program requirements, 20–80% of instruction is delivered through the teacher-directed online program, with the remaining instruction delivered by the parent.
- A minimum of 2 core subjects MUST be through the Teacher-Directed program
Teacher-Directed Online Program
- Teachers provide structured online instruction and guided learning for Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Health, Physical Education, Arabic.
- Parent involvement is supportive rather than instructional.
- Teachers are responsible for program planning, learning resources, instruction, and assessment.
