  • 2026 College Scholarship Application

  • Boswell Academic Scholarship — Eligibility & Overview
    The Boswell Academic Scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior in the Class of 2026 who will enroll for the first time in a four-year, accredited U.S. college or university.

    Selection Criteria
    Applicants are evaluated in three primary areas:

    • Academic achievement
    • Leadership
    • Community service

    Use of Scholarship Funds
    Scholarship funds are sent directly to the recipient's college or university once proof of enrollment has been received. Funds may be applied toward:

    • Tuition
    • Books
    • Supplies
    • Required fees

    Recipients must be remain enrolled as full-time students to retain eligibility.

    Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents and must meet the minimum GPA requirement.

    Application Deadline: All materials must be submitted no later than 11:59 PM EST on April 13, 2026.

    Eligibility
    Applicants must:

    • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
    • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or 3.0 on a 5.0 scale, verified by an official transcript.
    • Demonstrate leadership through participation in community service, extracurricular activities, or other meaningful experiences.

    Essay Requirement

    Applicants must submit an original essay titled:

    “Why I Believe that Community Service is Important.”
    The essay must:

    • Be typewritten
    • Contain 250-500 words
    • Be original work

    Transcript

    An official high school transcript must be emailed directly by the school to: fbefscholarship@gmail.com

    Please make sure

    • The student’s name appears in the subject line.
    • Transcripts are received not later than April 13, 2026.

    Letters of Recommendation

    Applicants must submit two (2) letters of recommendation.

    • At least one letter must be from a school counselor, teacher, or community leader.
    • Each letter must include the recommender’s

    • Name
    • Title
    • Address
    • Email
    • Primary phone number

    Letters may be submitted by the recommender separately or uploaded by the applicant.


    Photo Requirement
    A graduation or professional photo is required.
    Selfies will not be accepted.


    Signatures & Contact Information
    The application must be electronically signed by:

    • The student
    • A parent or guardian

    Both the student and parent/guardian must also provide:

    • Email address
    • Phone number

    Notification & Additional Requirements for Awardees
    Students selected to receive the scholarship will be notified by email and must provide:

    • Name of college attending
    • Student ID
    • College class schedule
    • Scholarship office contact information (where funds should be sent)
    • Full Social Security Number (required only recipents, for verification and processing)


    Deadlines

    All deadlines are firm.
    No exceptions will be made.


    Privacy Notice
    If selected as a scholarship recipient, your Social Security Number will be collected only for verification and scholarship processing purposes. It will be stored securely, kept confidential, and not shared for any other purpose.
