  • 2026 Berman-Gard Student Research Grant Application

    The Berman-Gard student research award will be granted to a graduate student whose research specifically focuses on the broad arena of employing psychological science to address events, circumstances, and/or interventions that further the well-being of the community or those at risk who live in the community.  This broad definition can describe a multitude of circumstances and/or interventions, designed to assist underserve, at risk populations. Some examples are:  the impact of the immigrant experience on children and families; the psychological impact of natural or human-created disasters; the impact of COVID-19 on aspects of family life and/or dynamics; experiences of first-responders; bringing information about mental health and psychological well-being to the public, organizations that are working in the NGO or pro bono space, and/or the impact of a nonprofit organization’s program in the community. The research must be at the stage where the data has been collected, if not yet fully analyzed. This applicants for this award maybe submitted by the researcher or their Mentor and maybe at the Masters level or Ph.D./Psy.D. level.  Please submit the nominations and a description of the research and/or an abstract to the GPF Awards Committee.
  • Submission deadline: March 15, 2026

    Winner will be announced at the Georgia Psychological Association Annual Business Meeting being held at the Atlanta Marriott NW at Galleria April 25th at 8 am and shared on the GPF website. Winner will receive a cash award and a plaque will be presented.
