Rendu Academy - Mentorship Course Registration

Thank you for your interest in journeying alongside our neighbors in need as a Vincentian or volunteer. Taking on this ministry is no small feat which is why we are excited to offer you the opportunity for a deeper, more practically focused training that will equip you for the road ahead, whether for one off encounters with a neighbor or you discern becoming a potential mentor. This one day training will provide an overview of the mentoring & accompaniment tradition within the Society, as well as best practices to assist you in working with our neighbors in addition to tips and tricks that can help you more broadly in life. All Academy days will include snacks, beverages, and a lunch for those registered.

The Rendu Academy - Mentorship Course developed by SVDP-Cincinnati is currently offered twice a year.

If you decide to continue on as a mentor after the session, within a Conference or our Self-Sufficiency program, we will ask that you complete a Safeguarding/Safe Environment training or provide suitable proof of training from an accepted source prior to commencing mentoring as well as completion of a background check. Concerned about a background check, don't worry! If an alert during the background check occurs, a member of the team will follow up to discuss your situation, such an event does not necessarily mean you cannot be a mentor.

Mentorship Opportunities to Explore

Conference Mentoring: Working directly with neighbors and guiding fellow Vincentians within your Conference to better assist neighbors through multiple encounters ideally leading to systemic change.

Re-Entry Program Mentoring: Working with those impacted by the criminal justice system as they re-found their lives and support systems.

Catino Women's Program Mentoring: Working with women seeking to overcome the benefits cliff through advancing in their employment & career, as well as various barriers, and achieve a greater level of self-sufficiency and stability.
