    • By volunteering at the Butter Tart Trot, high school students have the opportunity to accrue community service hours. North Simcoe Rotaract will only sign off on the volunteer hours of students who have signed in and signed out of their shift at the volunteer desk.  If your school uses physical forms to track volunteer hours, please bring them with you to your volunteer shift. If your school uses Hour Republic or similar software, please send your volunteer hour confirmation requests to: bttvolunteer@gmail.com

    • Volunteer Task Preference

    • The volunteer committee will take your preferences, past volunteer experience, certifications, and abilities into consideration when assigning roles but it cannot guarantee your preferred role(s). 

    • *This event requires a lot of course guides to run smoothly. Please consider signing up as course guide (you can even bring a lawn chair!).

  • Volunteer Polices & Agreement

  • 1. Our events rely heavily on dedicated volunteers who are willing to commit to be in attendance for the duration of the agreed upon scheduled time and carry out assigned tasks to the best of their ability. The 2026 Buttertart Trot is being held on the morning of Saturday June 13th. There are also volunteer shifts on Friday June 12th after 4pm. 


    2. Depending on the task assigned, those who are 18 years or older may be required to complete a Criminal Records Check including a Vulnerable Sector Screening (or submit a copy with a date stamp within the past 12 months).


    3. Volunteers are Ambassadors for the Club and a professional, positive, and enthusiastic attitude and genuine interest in helping others are important prerequisites for the position (rain, snow or shine).


    4. A virtual volunteer orientation will be held on Thursday June 4th at 7pm. Attendance is important and appreciated. A reminder and meeting link will be emailed to all volunteers on Monday June 1st


    5. Please be prepared for outdoor weather conditions and dress accordingly (sunscreen, bug spray, rain gear, warm attire, comfortable shoes/boots, hats, gloves. Water bottle…etc.). A uniform may be provided, and volunteers must agree to wear any gear that is provided.

  • If I am unable to attend my scheduled volunteer time due to unforeseen circumstances or am unable to fulfill my volunteer responsibilities, I agree to notify the volunteer coordinator immediately. I understand that my volunteer duties can be revoked at any time by staff if I do not follow procedures.
