WHAT IS THE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS PROGRAM?

The cornerstone of MOVE|NYC| is its TUITION-FREE, Young Professionals Program. The Young Professionals Program is a year-round Mentorship & College/Conservatory Prep Program for New York City teenagers, ages 13 - 18, who demonstrate exceptional potential for a career in dance. The Young Professionals Program identifies talent at every stage of technical development, from beginner to advanced, and provides critical access to opportunities for mentorship and training, which prepares each young dancer for admission to collegiate conservatory programs post high school.

100% of our graduates have matriculated to reputable college/conservatory and professional training programs, as well as professional dance companies.

PRIMARY PROGRAM OFFERINGS:
- Summer Intensive (August 9 - 30, 2026)
- Winter Intensive (February 16 - 20, 2027)
- Year-round 1-on-1 Professional Mentorship (With Co-Founder Nigel Campbell and leading artists in the professional field)
- Year-round 1-on-1 Peer Mentorship (Young Professionals are paired with recent alumni who attend collegiate dance programs)
- College/Conservatory Prep (Senior Audition Solo Coaching, Professional Headshots, College Application Guidance, Senior Solo Filming)
- Monthly Master Classes
- Professional Development (Career Management, Leadership Seminars, Resume-Building, Public Speaking Workshops
- Mental Wellness Support (Young Professionals participate in group mental wellness seminars and 1-on-1 mental wellness sessions)
- Artistic Advancement Scholarship Opportunities (Financial support for additional artistic opportunities)
- Professional Live Dance Performance Viewing
- Year-round Performance Opportunities (Through the Young Professionals Ensemble, participants will have a plethora of traditional and non-traditional performance opportunities across New York City)
The Young Professionals Program operates annually from August to June, and in addition to technique-based programs and/or performing arts high schools that our Young Professionals also attend.

ELIGIBILITY:

1. MUST be a resident of New York City (including all 5 boroughs)

2. MUST be between the ages of 13 and 18

*12 year olds who will turn 13 by August 2026 are eligible to audition*

3. MUST have a minimum of 2 years of dance training

INELIGIBILITY:

Current High School Seniors as the program operates year-round (August 2026 - June 2027)

WHAT IS THE Pre-YPP?

The Pre-YPP is a TUITION-FREE Mentorship & High School Prep Program for New York City’s young pre-professional dancers who demonstrate exceptional potential for a career in dance. The Pre-YPP identifies talent at every stage of technical development, from beginner to advanced, and provides critical access to opportunities for professional mentorship and technical training, which prepares each young dancer for a successful high school career.
