• TEC 2026 Expressions of Interest (EOI)

    Specialist Generalists
  • Our EOI approach focuses on what you’re good at, how you work, and where you thrive, rather than on job titles or roles.

At TEC, we do practical consulting — working alongside people to make real improvement stick.

We build delivery teams carefully for each client. We’re not looking for unicorns, but for specialist generalists with strong core skills who like rolling up their sleeves, working within real constraints, and contributing as part of a complementary team.

Our work is embedded and implementation-focused, favouring small, well-judged actions over big-bang change or endless slide decks.

If this sounds like how you like to work, we’d love to hear from you.

This form is intended as a short, sharp "tick and flick" - your first answer is always the right one, just share what you've already got and short bullet points all the way. Don't be afraid to write N/A.

  • YOUR CORE STRENGTHS - Putting the specialist in specialist generalist

For each area below, tell us how confident you feel. This isn't a test - we're interested in where you do your best work, not ticking every box.
  • Internal Communications competency (Select One)*
  • Tip - you've previously written for a corporate, internal audience (spoilers: this is different to updating socials or a website!). The types of documents you're confident producing include internal group emails, Director-level PowerPoint presentations, training manuals, guides and procedures. Ideally you've not just produced individual documents, but can step through the logic of not just what to write, but who, when and why to build relevant internal communications strategies.

  • Business Improvement competency (Select One)*
  • Tip - you've been part of a team to design new, and or, improve ways of working (that wasn't an ICT function). The types of approaches you've used may include Lean, Six Sigma, BABOK and Design Thinking.  You can independently run small team workshops, complete user interviews, and develop BPMN process maps in Visio, and you probably know what BABOK stands for. Your brain thinks process, people AND THEN technology.

  • IT Service Management competency (Select One)*
  • Tip - we're looking for demonstrable experience improving ICT strategy, operations and project processes rather than ITIL theory and certifications!

  • Management System & Framework development competency (Select One)*
  • Tip - You are familiar with all of the components of a management framework - policy, guides, procedures, templates, and they interact with an organisation's broader governance framework. You may have been involved with ISO certification, internal audits or other control and compliance activities. Examples include:

    • Integrated Management System
    • Strategic Asset Management Framework
    • Project Management Framework
    • Risk Management Framework
    • Safety Management System
    • Financial Management Manual

If you've worked on a Strategic Asset Management Framework previously, please highlight this in your response in other sections.

  • Enterprise Asset Management System (ERP) competency (Select One)*
  •

Tip - we're not looking for developers, data scientists or AI specialists. We're looking for people who understand "good waterfall", and the steps associated with making changes to ERP systems. Double-double bonus points if you've previously worked with TechOne EAM module - please put this in ALL CAPS somewhere ;)

  • How You Join the Dots

Working as a consultant is different to having a functional position in an organisational chart - it's about finding and fixing gaps in structures, processes and systems.
