  • Welcome to the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds Flag Team. Being a member of the Flag Team is both an honor and a responsibility. Our team proudly represents the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds, our community, and the traditions of rodeo at events throughout the year. 

    Flag Team Clinic on February 7th at 11am located at the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds.

    Applications due by February 12th. 

    Flag Team Tryouts, must attend atleast 1 tryout but can come to all 3: February 13th @ 6pm CRG, February 14th @ 11am CRG, February 19th @ 6pm CRG

    First Practice: February 22nd @ 1pm

  • By submitting this application, applicant agrees to the Caorsegold Rodeo Flag Team Expectations
    All Flag Team members are expected to:

    • Attend scheduled practices, events, and appearances
    • Arrive on time, prepared, and properly dressed
    • Maintain a positive attitude and show respect to teammates, event staff, and the public
    • Follow all instructions given by the Flag Team Leader or event officials
    • Ensure horses are healthy, trained, and suitable for public event

    Horse & Equipment Standards

    • Horses must be calm, controllable, and comfortable with flags, crowds, music, and loud noises
    • Proper tack and safety equipment must be used at all times
    • Horses must be well-groomed and presentable
    • Riders are responsible for the care, safety, and behavior of their horses


    Dress Code
    Flag Team members must adhere to the approved dress code for all official appearances, which may include:

    • Official Flag Team shirt or uniform
    • Western attire (jeans, boots, belt, hat if applicable)
    • Clean, neat, and professional appearance
    • Specific uniform requirements may be communicated prior to events.


    Code of Conduct
    All members of the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds Flag Team are expected to uphold the highest standards of conduct:

    • Treat fellow team members, staff, volunteers, and the public with respect
    • No inappropriate language, behavior, or gestures
    • No alcohol or illegal substances before or during events
    • Follow all safety guidelines and arena rules
    • Represent the Flag Team positively on social media
    • Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including removal from the team.


    Safety Policy
    Safety is a top priority. Members must:

    • Follow all safety instructions during practices and events
    • Immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents
    • Wear appropriate safety gear as required
    • Understand that participation involves inherent risks associated with horses and rodeo environments


    Attendance & Commitment
    Participation on the Flag Team requires commitment. Repeated absences, tardiness, or failure to communicate may impact team standing. Members are expected to notify the Flag Team Leader as early as possible if they are unable to attend an event.


    Media & Public Representation
    By participating on the Flag Team, members consent to photographs and video recordings being used for promotional and archival purposes by the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds.


    Acknowledgment
    By participating on the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds Flag Team, members acknowledge that they have read, understand, and agree to abide by the guidelines, expectations, and Code of Conduct outlined in this handbook.
