Camp Encouragement is a free, healing-centered summer day camp for children ages 7–12 in Chester and Delaware County, Pennsylvania, who have experienced the loss of a loved one. This loss may include death, divorce, incarceration, abandonment, or separation due to addiction or other difficult life circumstances.
At Camp Encouragement, children have the chance to build friendships, process their emotions, and rediscover joy in a supportive and caring environment. Activities include: Creating a podcast with CMP Radio, visiting the Elmwood Park Zoo, exploring Spicebush Montessori school, participating in art, music, storybook telling, games, and nature-based projects, and enjoying a special overnight trip to the Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center.
Camp will take place on weekdays from June 15 to July 1, 2026. The camp will take place at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church - 101 Washington Ave., Upper Chichester, PA. This program is completely free to families, thanks to support from our community.
