Age Divisions

Check-In:

8:30am – 0-11months old Queen & King, 1year old Queen & King, 2 years old Queen & King, 3 years old Queen & King, 4 years old Jr. Queen & Jr. King (These age groups may vary depending on how many children we have of each age)

• Queens: Dress in pageant attire. (No watermelon outfits)

• Kings: Dress like you are going to Church, formal Events, etc.

• If there are less than three contestants in any age group, the contestants will be placed in another group.

• All contestants must be at the pageant by their assigned check-in time. Pageant will begin at 9am.

• Keep makeup to a minimal (no fake hair no flappers). We encourage you to allow children to be themselves and enjoy the festival. This is not a glitz pageant.

• Jr. Queen and Jr. King contestants will answer a question on stage.

• All contestants will receive a trophy.

• The Queen and King in each age division will be expected to ride in the Newberry Watermelon Festival parade on Saturday, May 16th at 10:00am. You will be responsible for your own car and signs with your name, title, and sponsor.

• Also, winners and runners-up will be introduced at the Festival Sat, May 16th.

DEADLINE: Application must be postmarked by April 20th. NO EXCEPTIONS!

ADMISSION: Admission is $1.00 at the door and under 5 FREE.

All judges’ decisions are final! No refunds. No exceptions. Any parent with unacceptable behavior disqualifies their child from this pageant, as well as future Newberry Watermelon Festival pageants.
