DCCDC BOSSTANK Overview
Since the many business owners and entrepreneurs in the DMV region are on the short end of the 81x wealth gap, they are starting businesses powered by vision and tenacity, but without adequate funding. As a result these business owners are marginalized by wearing many hats and exhaust personal finances to launch a business venture because they don't have traditional banking relationships or access friends and family money that are key to business start ups, as the individuals in their networks are also historically financially marginalized.
The DCCDC BOSSTANK Pilot attempts to break this barrier by funding Back Office Support Systems, designed to help small businesses scale by helping to strengthen their operations, improve financial readiness, and prepare for traditional lending and procurement opportunities.
Selected businesses will receive professional back office support from our team of Business Advisory & Service Experts Consultants in partnership with the National Bankers Association Foundation, through a grant from the Greater Washington Community Foundation's Health Equity Fund.
Call for DCCDC BOSSTANK BASE Consultants
DCCDC BOSSTANK is seeking experienced Consultants to provide direct hands on, professional back-office support to selected Ward 7 and Ward 8 Business Owners. We seek consultants qualified in the areas of Bookkeeping, Accounting, Strategic Planning, Administrative Assistance, Marketing, Communications, Business Development/Procurement, Legal Support, HR, Systems, Information Technology, and Web Design to work directly with entrepreneurs to perform essential business functions, allowing them to focus on growth and long-term strategy goals.
Eligibility
- Preference given to Contractors based in Ward 7 and 8, Washington, DC
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of consulting experience
- Must be an expert with a strong understanding of their field
- Ability to work with diverse businesses across various industries
- Must be able to document time/efforts
- Must be able to complete and submit required reporting
- Can commit to an anticipated 10-20 hours per week depending on needs and agreed upon scope (with a min of 2 days per month, 9am-5pm, in office at our Ward 7 & 8 Office HUB)

Compensation:
This is a contracted consulting role. All engagements and project work will be pre-scoped and approved prior to the consultant starting any project work. Compensation structure will be discussed during the interview and finalized during the contract scoping process.
