Friday, March 6, 7:00pm-9:00pm
WaterWorks, 5514 US Hwy 31S, Hartselle, AL 35640
Cost: $60 / participant (non-refundable)
During this two-hour class, participants will learn how to relax, pin, and spread butterfly specimens using techniques similar to those used in museum collections. Instruction will be provided step by step in a relaxed, guided setting.
Each participant will work with three butterfly specimens that are ethically sourced from around the world and selected specifically for educational use. Two lower-grade specimens are used for practice, allowing participants to get comfortable with the process before working with one pristine, museum-quality specimen.
All materials are provided. Participants will take their pinned specimens home in a protective box. Specimens will need to dry for several days after the workshop before they are ready to be framed.
No previous experience required. Adults only.
