You can ask your students to complete a career-related assignment or appointment outside-of-class. Simply write the assignment into your syllabus and assign a due date.
Please Note:
Appointment availability cannot be guaranteed, so it is recommended that you make time in class to schedule appointments earlier in the semester as well as a deadline in which the appointment is to be completed later in the semester to avoid availiability constraints.
Students should schedule career advising appointments through Triton Track (www.eckerd.edu/TritonTrack).
The Career Center also offers the Career & Life Design Lab, which students can drop-in for career advising without an appointment. The Career & Life Design Lab provide students space to work on career and professional development related goals and is staffed by Career Advisors and Student Career Assistants. More information on the Career Lab including hours of operation can be found here.
However, staff availability in the Career & Life Design cannot be guaranteed and we may not be able to accomodate a large number of students at the same time.
Please ensure that students understand office staffing constraints and ensure they do not wait until the last minute to fulfill the assignment/appointment.
