    2026 Volunteer Expression of Interest

  • Thank you for your interest in being part of the 2026 Don River Dash. Please complete the details below, a team leader will be in touch with you in early August.

    For Checkpoint/Recovery/Sweeps volunteers, we will ask you to have at least one person in your crew with What3Words downloaded on your mobile device - this is the medical teams' preferred method of advising locations. Our preference is to use WhatsApp for team communications, please consider downloading this on your mobile device and setting up notifications for it.

  • Do you have any experience with marshaling, or off road racing sweep or recovery volunteering? (Not essential, it just helps us to place the right people in the right place.)*

  • Sweeps & Recoveries

  • 3a. Do you have a sweep buggy or recovery vehicle available to use? (Please note, due to the nature of the race we cannot use motorcycles as sweeps.)
  • Checkpoints

  • 4a. Do you have a preference for a particular checkpoint? If so, we will do our best to allocate that position to you and your crew members.
  • Pit Marshals/Line Up Marshals

  • 5. What days are you available to act as a marshal?
  • Do you hold a Motorcycling Australia or AASA official's licence? (Please note, it is not mandatory to hold a qualification.)*
  • To comply with our race licences, we cannot have any volunteers who are aged under 16. (This includes as passengers in sweep or recovery vehicles.) Do you agree to this requirement?*
  • Do you agree to the no-alcohol rule during your work time in your volunteering role?*
  • It is important that we keep all of our volunteers safe. We will ask that you wear closed in footwear (not crocs) at all times, and depending on your role, you may be asked to wear a safety vest. Do you agree to this requirement.*
  • To comply with MA licencing, pets are not allowed on site - this includes in the river on Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Do you agree to comply with this ruling?*
  • All volunteers must attend a safety briefing. The main briefing will be on Friday evening at 7pm, at the Showgrounds. However, if you are unable to attend this briefing (for example, if you will not be in Bowen until Saturday morning), we may be able to arrange individual briefings. Please indicate below when you can attend.*
