We ask all clients to confirm they understand the following details about our shared responsibilities:
1. Our Commitment to You.
We will prepare your federal and any requested state income tax returns for the applicable tax year. We will use the information you provide to us.
- Accuracy and Completeness: We rely on the information you give us. We will not audit or check every detail you submit. However, we may ask you follow-up questions to clarify certain items.
- Information Gathering: We will give you questionnaires or worksheets to help you gather the necessary information. Using these forms will help ensure we don't miss important details.
- Professional Judgment: If tax laws are unclear or if there are conflicts in how tax authorities interpret the law, we will use our professional judgment. Unless you tell us otherwise, we will resolve these questions in your favor whenever legally possible.
- Bookkeeping: Our service includes any necessary bookkeeping to complete your tax returns. If you require extra bookkeeping help, we can discuss those services for an additional fee.
- Fraud Detection: Our service is solely for tax preparation. However, if we notice any signs of fraud, theft, or other financial irregularities, we may check further.
2. Your Responsibilities
- Provide Information: It is your responsibility to provide all necessary, complete, and accurate information needed to prepare your returns.
- Keep Records: You must keep all supporting documents, such as W-2s, 1099s, receipts, canceled checks, and other records, for at least seven years. You will need these records to prove your return is accurate and complete if you are audited.
- Final Review: You are the one signing the tax returns, which means you have the final legal responsibility for them. You must review the completed returns carefully before signing them.
3. Potential Penalties and Audits
- Understating Tax Liability: The law includes various penalties for taxpayers who incorrectly state a lower tax amount than they owe. Please contact us if you would like more information about these penalties.
- Tax Reviews (Audits): Taxing authorities may select your returns for review. If selected, we stand ready to assist upon request by reviewing the information you provided for tax preparation and guiding you appropriately.
4. Fee and Service Details
- Independent Contractors: Please note that all tax preparers working with Blessed Tax Multiservice are independent contractors, not employees. If you have any issues with your return or services, please contact us directly:
- Email: Blessedtaxdocuments@gmail.com
- Tax Preparation Fee: Our fee is based on the complexity of your return and the forms we must file. Fees may vary and are set by the firm, not the preparer.
- Refund Deduction: If you choose to have your fee taken out of your tax refund, and the refund funds are not received for any reason, you remain responsible for the full payment of our fees. Any unpaid fees will be billed directly to you after 30 days and are due immediately. Please understand that our fee is for the preparation of your taxes, not for the act of filing or for obtaining your refund.
