Smaller Housing Scheme of the Year 2026

Use the criteria below to write your submission. We haven’t provided a maximum word count, but your submission will be marked against quality rather than quantity. We strongly advise that you supply supporting images and or documents with your submission but limit your overall submission to 2mb.

For this category the judges are looking for smaller housing schemes across the North West.

Entrants should submit a project comprising of 25 or fewer new homes. Judges are looking for a scheme that has incorporated elements such as innovations or novel design features, sustainable benchmarks, strong environmental credentials, levels of amenity and strong examples of placemaking or other benefits to the local community.

The judges are looking for a scheme that meets the needs of the local community and stands out from its competitors.

The scheme must be completed or at practical completion to be considered.

By submitting an entry, you are committing to accommodate a judges’ visit in April, should you be shortlisted, to support our final decision.
