    TERMS AND CONDITIONS – 2026

    1. Lessons

    1. Lessons at Midstream Ridge Primary (MRP) Music Centre are offered during non-academic school periods (music, PE, and art), as well as before and after school.
    2. The music teacher provides a total of 30 lessons per year on a weekly basis.
    3. Music Theory lessons are not compulsory for beginners but are mandatory for students who have received instrumental tuition for one or more years.
    4. Learners are expected to own or rent their instrument, and their instrument must be available at home for the learner to practise on. Except for piano and drumkit learners, learners must bring their instrument to school on the day of his/her lesson. Instruments cannot be stored in classrooms for extended periods of time. Instrument rental is available through the MRP Music Centre. Please enquire about the centre’s rental options if needed.
    5. Progress reports are issued twice a year, during the second and fourth terms.
    6. Learners are expected to be on time and prepared for every lesson.

    2. Lesson Fees

For the year 2026, a total of 30 lessons will be provided. Payment for each lesson type is made on a termly instalment basis, with the rate depending on the selected lesson package (detailed below). Please note: all payments are to be made directly to the respective teacher.

For each additional instrument, R100,00 will be added to the registration fee. The registration fee will be added to the learner’s school account. For high school students or students from other schools, kindly pay the registration fee into the following account and forward proof of payment to celiab@midstreamridgeprimary.co.za.

Account name: Midstream Ridge College (Pty) Ltd
    Bank: Investec Bank Limited
    Account number: 40005069704
    Branch code: 580105
    Reference: 1600 098

    3. Termination of Lessons

Should a learner decide to discontinue lessons, parents/guardians must provide the teacher with one full term’s written notice, during which the parent/guardian will remain responsible for the full fee.

    4. Absenteeism

    1. All weekly individual practice and theory lessons are compulsory. Exceptions to this include only school events and medical absenteeism. Lessons not cancelled with 24-hour notice will be forfeited. Make-up lessons may be arranged at the end of the term if time allows. Due to scheduling constraints, these lessons are not guaranteed and will depend on the teacher’s availability.
    2. In the beginning of the year, learners in the Foundation Phase (Grade 1–3) will be reminded of their music lessons by their register teacher. For the first two lessons, new learners will be fetched from class by their music teacher. However, we implore every learner to remember their lesson time by the third week of the year. We request parents to assist in this regard.
    3. Our music staff at MRP Music Centre are professional musicians and will have other concert and rehearsal commitments that may clash with lesson times from time to time. In this event, it will be the music teacher’s responsibility to inform their learners and their parents ahead of time and to schedule make-up lessons.
    4. Please note that if lessons are suspended due to non-payment, any missed lessons during this period are considered forfeited. These lessons will not be eligible for make-up or rescheduling.

    5. Resources

Books and other resources/expenses such as instruments and instrumental upkeep, sheet music, examination and competition entry fees will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
