    Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is a historically black collegiate Greek-letter fraternity, founded on January 5, 1911, at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.   • Newnan-Fairburn Alumni Chapter Overview

    The Newnan-Fairburn Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was chartered on August 12, 2016 with the mission to establish a highly effective and efficient chapter while upholding the NFAC motto, "Brotherhood First." The Newnan-Fairburn Alumni Chapter offers scholarship opportunities for high school seniors in the Newnan-Fairburn service area, which includes Coweta County, City of Fairburn, and Fayette County. These scholarships will assist students with funding expenses for their college education. Each scholarship will be awarded during the student’s award ceremony at their high school or a private ceremony hosted by the members of the Newnan-Fairburn Alumni Chapter.
  • The Newnan-Fairburn Alumni Achievement Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements: (1) U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of United States, (2) High School Senior who will matriculate to a college during the fall of this year, (3) Reside and/or attend high school in NFAC’s Service Area, (4) Hold a 2.75 GPA or higher on a 4.0 Scale, (5) Demonstrate leadership and community activities. (5) Record a 1-minute, selfie-style introduction video so that the scholarship committee can get to know you in your own words. (6) Write a 500 word essay on the one of the following topics: “How you plan to achieve your plans for college and beyond."
  • The Harold R. Williams Memorial Scholarship

    Eligibility Requirements: (1) U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of United States, (2) High School Senior who will matriculate to a Historically Black College or University during the fall of this year, (3) Reside in NFAC’s Service Area, (4) 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 Scale, (5) Has demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in athletic competition, community services, and other extracurricular activities. (6) Record a 1-minute, selfie-style introduction video so that the scholarship committee can get to know you in your own words. (7) Write a 500-1000 word essay “Describing your planned undergraduate study and how you plan to apply it upon graduation” or “Who is your non-relative role-model and how he or she has influenced/impacted your life”.
  • Important Scholarship Application Information

    The Newnan-Fairburn Alumni Chapter will offer multiple Kappa Alpha Psi Scholarships, ranging from $1,000 to $2,500, and one $1,500 Harold R. Williams Memorial Scholarship. For consideration, your application must be submitted by the application deadline (11:59PM EST on March 15, 2026) and must be completed in its entirety (including submission of all supporting documentation). Applicants will be notified if they are a finalist and/or recipient. The scholarship funds will be released to the recipient once the recipient provides proof of enrollment (enrollment verification letter or class schedule, not an acceptance letter) from their selected college. Allocated scholarship funds for students who fail to provide enrollment verification by September 1, 2026, will be returned to the scholarship fund for future applicants. Introductory Video Submission (Required): Applicants must submit a one-minute introductory video. Record a video introducing yourself (name, school, future plans, and why you are applying for this scholarship). Upload the video to an online platform that generates a shareable link (YouTube, Google Drive, Vimeo, etc.). Paste the video link into a document (Word or PDF). Upload the document with your application materials.
