CALL FOR ARTISTS - 2026 MAC Members' Show
Mobile Arts Council, in collaboration with Cottonwood Center for the Arts in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is thrilled to invite our Artist Members to participate in a special exhibition for August 2026. This exclusive, juried opportunity will feature artwork created by Gulf Coast artists that celebrates and shares the spirit of the South with our friends in the Rocky Mountain region. Cottonwood Center for the Arts is a nonprofit arts organization and creative hub located in downtown Colorado Springs. Artists with more than one entry are subject to have a piece juried out, depending on the number of entries received. All submissions must be digitally entered online by 11:59 P.M., SUNDAY, MAY 31ST! Pieces juried into the show must be arrive to Cottonwood by July 30TH at 5:00pm! *****Artists will be responsible for their shipping and return labels in lieu of Cottonwood’s regular submission fees.*****
QUALIFICATIONS
2D works must be equipped to hang with a wire, and be ready to hang. Cottonwood Center for the Arts will take a 10% commission on all art sales. Works do not have to be for sale. The creation of new works is encouraged but works previously displayed at MAC's gallery are acceptable. Works must remain on display through Friday, August 29th.
SHIPPING & DELIVERY
We will follow up with all applicants via email with juried results. Artist is responsible for transit of artwork to and from Cottonwood Center for the Arts. Upon delivery, artwork should be exhibit-ready, appropriately framed if necessary, appropriately mounted if necessary, and ready to hang. Please use a reusable container when shipping. Work must be professionally packed for safe delivery, use screws to secure container together if shipping in wooden crates. Works must arrive on or before July 30, 2026 Shipped work must have a prepaid insured return label. Do not ship glass unless you have properly packaged for safe arrival.

CONTENT
Cottonwood is not accepting acrylic pours for our calls for entries at this time, unless the pour technique is incorporated with an additional element or technique in the piece. For main gallery shows Cottonwood does not accept giclée prints of original artwork made in a medium other than digital art or photography, unless it is incorporated with an additional element or technique in the piece.
DISPLAY AND PRESENTATION
Upon delivery, artwork should be exhibit ready, appropriately framed if necessary (ideally in a minimal, black frame unless a different style is intentionally chosen to enhance the meaning/content of the art), appropriately mounted if necessary, ready to hang with D-rings or eye hooks with wire designed for the weight of the piece. The back of each piece must two labels with name of artist, title, medium and price attached. No tabletop frames will be accepted for hanging. Sawtooth hangers, French cleats, and D-rings without wire will not be accepted unless prior approval has been obtained from our team.
LIABILITY
Cottonwood assumes no liability for theft, loss, fire, or destruction of any kind to any and all exhibited artwork, storage crates, or other related items, however caused throughout the duration of the show. By signing the Exhibition Contract, the artist acknowledges an understanding and agreement with the Cottonwood Center for the Arts exhibition policy and requirements.
ARTIST INFORMATION
Images submitted must be high quality, centered, cropped appropriately, free from glare, and absent of anything that will detract from the artwork itself.
