2026 Austin Marathon Media Waiver & Credential Application

Please complete this form to complete the commerical release waiver, request news media or press credentials.

Each individual requeting credentials must submit a separate application. Credentials are reviewed and approved in advance of the event.

When submitting the form, select the appropriate media category:

News media/ Press - This is for recognized news stations and news publications.Please have all members of your team that will be in attendance apply for credntials. Select below and fill out the release waiver.

Official Sponsor Media Team - This is for official sponsors of the event.Please have all members of your team that will be in attendance apply for credntials. Select below and fill out the release waiver.

Commercial Use - For busineesses wishing to capture the event in a commerical capacity including for sale or by use of another company/brand. Select below and fill out the release waiver.

Content Creator Use - For content creators wishing to capture the event in a commerical capcity. Restricted access to select areas for collecting content at the start and finish line. Select below and fill out the release waiver.

Personal Use - Does not require a credential or waiver. You are welcome to take personal photos and videos anywhere along the course and at the finish line festival as long as you do not enter the course. You do not need to fill out this form.

Rules

Do not obstruct runners, volunteers, or race operations
Stay out of restricted or fenced areas
No drones without written approval
Do not interfere with official event photographers
Respect participants who prefer not to be photographed
Using unauthorized vehicles like bicycles, e-bikes, or scooters, which pose safety hazards and disrupt the race for participants.

Commericial Use Waiver

By participating in photography or videography at the Austin Marathon, you agree not to misrepresent or imply any official association, partnership, or endorsement with the event, its producers, or sponsors, and not to use event marks or content for advertising or promotional purposes without prior written approval.

Use of event names, logos, trademarks, course elements, or branded environments for commercial, advertising, or promotional purposes is prohibited without prior written consent.

All photographers and videographers assume all risk, must display credentials, follow all event, venue, City of Austin, and safety regulations, and may not interfere with participants, staff, or official media operations. Final photo and video assets may be required for event review or potential purchase.

Drone use is strictly prohibited without prior written approval and all required permits and clearances. Failure to comply may result in revocation of commercial use rights, removal from the event, and potential legal action.

You will not permitted into any secure zone and must stay within the designated content zones.

Content Creator Participation Waiver

By attending and creating content at the Austin Marathon, you acknowledge and agree that you are participating as an independent content creator and are not an official representative, partner, sponsor, or member of the event’s media team. You may not state, suggest, or imply any official association, partnership, or endorsement with the Austin Marathon, its producers, or its sponsors without prior written approval.

Use of event names, logos, trademarks, course elements, or branded environments for commercial, advertising, or promotional purposes is prohibited without prior written consent.

All content creators participate at their own risk and must display issued credentials at all times. You agree to comply with all event rules, venue policies, City of Austin regulations, and safety requirements. Content creation must not interfere with participants, spectators, staff, volunteers, or official event media operations.

You acknowledge that final photo and video assets may be requested for event review and may be considered for potential licensing or purchase by the event.

Access Restrictions:
Content creators are not permitted in any secure or restricted zones and must remain within designated content creation areas at all times.

Drone Policy:
Drone use is strictly prohibited without prior written approval and all required permits and regulatory clearances. Unauthorized drone activity will result in immediate removal.

Failure to comply with this waiver or event policies may result in revocation of credentials, removal from the event, loss of commercial usage rights, and potential legal action.

Media will be escorted into the secure zone for the finish of the elite male and female champion. They can then conduct interviews in the side elite media zone. Depending on timing they may be asked to leave the area and return to the moat between finishes.

The must remain on the sides in the designated tapped areas at all times.
