The 7th TAHI New Zealand Festival of Solo Performance is being presented in Pōneke from September 9th - 19th, 2026. TAHI uplifts, amplifies and celebrates the powerful voices of Aotearoa NZ’s storytellers. We present across a range of venues in Wellington city.
We want to programme bold work, present fresh perspectives, and highlight the rich diversity of solo theatre in Aotearoa and beyond. Our festival model focuses on brokering space for performance and autonomy for artists (rather than a performance fee/buy in), that is championed by dynamic marketing.
TAHI is looking to programme solo performance within the following parameters:
- Both established and emerging artists.
- Work that is stage ready.
- Multi-disciplinary performance - including theatre, dance and music.
- Diverse, surprising, innovative and exciting stories.
TAHI provides:
- venue brokering - assistance in finding suitable and affordable performance venues with a range of performance dates.
- marketing and publicity - through our festival programme, including print, EDMs and social media, opportunities for interviews and reviewing.
- hauora and connection to the festival and other artists with events.
- accessibility knowledge - guidance on how to make your performances as accessible as possible.
- green theatre knowledge - guidance on environmentally sustainable practice.
- technical guidance - connecting you with local suppliers and technichians.
ARTISTS will:
- take the box office revenue, less venue and ticketing costs
- cover all the presenting costs, including venue hire, FOH and technicians
- secure contracts with venues and commit to performance dates with TAHI
- manage their ticketing through venues or ticketing agents.
- engage with TAHI's marketing team and supply assets.
