    Miles & Exposure Agreement
  • 1. Program Overview

  • The FFH Outside Miles Program is a mileage and exposure service only. 

    Horses enrolled in this program will be ridden primarily:

    • On trails and bush terrain
    • Around FFH property 
    • Over natural and man made obstacles 

    The purpose of this program is to provide real world riding experience, exposure and consistency for horses that are already educated and rideable. 

    This program is suitable for horses:

    • That are coming back into work 
    • Require fitness & exercise
    • Are needing to be prepared for sale
    • Green horses that need more miles

    It is also a great program for people who may be going away or traveling and would like their horse kept in work.

     

  • 2. Important Disclaimer - Not a Training Program

  • This program is NOT a training service.

    It does not include:

    • Starting horses under saddle
    • Behavioural modification 
    • Re-education or retraining
    • Problem solving or schooling of known issues

    Any training, education or behavioural work is offered seperately through our FFH Training Programs and requires a seperarte assessment and agreement. 

  • 3. Horse Eligibility Requirements

  • To be accepted into the FFH Outside Miles Program, horses must:

    • Be safe to handle and ride
    • Be comfortable being ridden outside an arena environment 
    • Be free from dangerous behaviours (rearing, bucking, bolting, kicking, etc.)
    • Be suitable for bush riding and varied terrain
    • Be in good overall health

    Foundation First Horsemanship reserves the right to:

    • Decline or discontinue a horse from the program if safety concerns arise
    • Recommend transfer into a training program if required
  • Horse Health & Body Condition Declaration:

    At the time of entry into the FFH Outside Miles Program, the owner confirms that their horse is in good overall health and suitable for consistent ridden work.

    Horses accepted into the program must be in a condition appropriate for the intended workload.

  • Foundation First Horsemanship reserves the right to: 

    • Decline acceptance of a horse that is not in suitable condition
    • Modify workload if a horse's condition changes
    • Recommend veterinary assessment or program suspension if welfare concerns arise
    • Request the owner provides more quantity or better quality hard feed to meet the energy requirements for the horse
  • 4. Services Included

  • The FFH Outside Miles Program includes:

    • Consistent ridden exposure
    • Bush and property riding
    • Exposure to varied terrain and obstacles 
    • Professional handling and care
    • Equissage treatments post ride
    • Daily care and monitoring
    • Weekly updates of horses progression

    This program does not guarantee behavioural or performance outcomes, as horses respond differently to exposure and experience. 

  • 5. Hoof Care Requirements

  • Due to the nature of bush riding and kilometres covered: 

    • Horses must have shoes or correctly fitted hoof boots
    • Horses without adequate hoof protection may be declined or removed from the program
    • If a horse requires farrier maintenance during the program it will be to the cost of the owner. 
  • 6. Feeding & Care

    • Hay is included in the weekly fee
    • Owners must supply their horses pre made hard feeds
    • If owner would like FFH to supply hard feed there will be extra costs 
    • Any supplements must be provided by the owner with written instructions
    • Horses will be housed in a private electrified yard with either man made or natural shelter
    • Horses will be fed twice daily 7 days a week 

    Foundation First Horsemanship will follow feeding instructions as provided but cannot guarantee consumption if a horse refuses to eat. 

    FFH may request the owner supplies more quantity or better quality hard feed to meet the energy requirements of the horse during the program. 

  • 7. Fees & Payment Terms

    • $350 per week (hay included)
    • Minimum stay: 4 weeks
    • 1 week ($350) deposit is required to confirm spot in the programs schedule - this is a NON REFUNDABLE deposit and will be deducted from the overral fee amount
    • Fees are payable in advance unless otherwise agreed
    • No refunds for early removal by the owner

    Additonal services outside the scope of this program may incur extra fees and will be discussed prior. 

    Fees are payable in advance unless otherwise agreed. Failure to maintain payments may result in suspension of services and transfer to full care agistment as outlines in section 12.

  • 8. Veterinary & Emergency Care

  • In the event of illness or injury: 

    • Foundation First Horsemanship will make reasonable efforts to contact the owner
    • If the owner cannot be reached, FFH is authorised to seek veterinary treatment deemed nesessary
    • All veterinary, farrier, and related costs are the responsibility of the owner
  • 9. Risk Acknowledgement & Liability Waiver

  • Horse related activities involve inherent risks. These risks include but not limited to, injury, illness, loss, or death of a horse, people; and damage to property. These risks exist regardless of the level of care, experience or precautions taken. 

    The owner acknowledges and accepts that:

    • Bush riding, trail riding, obstable exposure and handling in varied terrain carry increased risk
    • Horses are unpredictable by nature
    • Foundation First Horsemanship will not be held liable for injury, illness, loss, or death except in cases of proven negligence
    • Participation in the program is at the owners own risk
  • 10. Social Media Consent

  • 11. Termination of Agreement & Refund Policy

  • Foundation First Horsemanship reserves the right to terminate this agreement if: 

    • Safety concerns arise
    • The horse becomes unsuitable for the program
    • Undisclosed behavioural, health or soundess issues are identified
    • Payment terms are not met

    In such cases:

    • Fees already paid are non-refundable
    • The owner will be notified and arrangements made for prompt collection 

    If termination occurs at FFH's discrection for reasons unrelated to safety, payment or misrepresentation, any unused full weeks may be transfered to a credit note at FFH's discretion. 

  • Owner Initiated Early Termination

    If the owner chooses to remove their horse before the minimum 4 week term is completed:

    • Fees already paid are non-refundable
    • Any unused portion of time is forfited
    • The minumum term applies regardless of early collection
  • 12. Overdue Payments & Agistment Terms

  • All program fees are required to be paid in advance unless otherwise agreed in writing. 

    1 week ($350) deposit is required to hold spot in program. This is a NON REFUNABLE deposit and is deducted from total fee amount. 

    If payment becomes overdue:

    • The horse will be transfered from the FFH Outside Miles Program to full care agistment
    • Full care agistment will be charged at $270 per week
    • An additional $10 per day overdue and administration fee will apply until the outstanding balance is paid in full. 

    While on full care agistment:

    • No riding, exposure, or program services will be provided
    • Care will be limited to daily feeding, monitoring and paddock care

    Foundation First Horsemanship reserves the right to:

    • Suspend services immediately for non-payment
    • Require immediate collection of the horse if accounts remain outstanding
