• 2026 Bluegrass Camp # 2 Registration

    Dates June 16th-20th
  • You may register up to 5 children (at a time), ages 10 to 18 using this form. Please note that you are registering for the June 16th-20th Bluegrass Camp in Branson, MO

If you wish to register a child for more than one camp, please fill out a separate form for each camp.

If you have siblings who are ages 5 to 10 who would like to attend a junior camp with a little less intensity, you can register them on this form as well.

  • Bluegrass Camp is where students ages 10 to 18 will learn to play as a traditional bluegrass band made up of fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, dobro and bass.

Students will be assigned to a band for the week. There will be individual instrumental lessons, group/band instruction, workshops, vocal lessons, evening jams and an evening of square dance. Song writing workshops will be available this year and are inlcuded in the camp fee.

The days start at 9:00 am.  After dinner is time to participate in jams or square dancing and usually lasts until 9:00 pm. It is optional if younger students need to get some rest.

Parents are welcome: all day and are welcome to participate in the evening jams and square dance at any of the camps!

Passing it on: This philosophy is a core value of OMMA. As students learn, we encourage them to pass on what they know and be an encouragement to others. Many of our experienced students are very capable teachers. Volunteer instructors can make their time available for students who want additional training.

Cost of Branson camp: $550, includes t-shirt, meals, lessons, coaching & snacks. No lodging.

Cost of Jr Bluegrass camp: $250 includes t-shirt, group & individual lessons every day. 9:00 to 11:30.

If you have any questions, please contact Wendy Wright at 417-631-2442 or ozarkmountainmusic1@gmail.com

  • If you have a child 5-10 years old that would like to participate in the junior camp version, please let us know.

Here's the details: Jr Camp is for kids, age 5-10, who are not quite ready for the intensity and longer hours and expectations of bluegrass camp.  They will work on a couple of easy tunes, like Boil 'em Cabbage and Old Joe Clark.  They will work as a group from 9:00 to 11:00 (with breaks as needed) and have an individual lesson from 11:00 to 11:30. Meals are not included but can be added if your family is staying for meals.

If your child is 8 or 9 years old, and already has a passion for music, plays in a family band, or you think they can handle the expectations of the full bluegrass camp, please call Wendy at 417-631-2442 to discuss.

  • Student Registration and Details for Campers ages 10-18

  • Experience Requirements: The expectation for campers is that they know the beginning basics of at least one instrument. Campers will be in all stages of learning and there will be individual lessons based on your child's level as well as time spent learning to play and perform as a band. Your student's individual lessons will be the preferred instrument. If he/she would like to bring another instrument, there will be plenty of opportunity in the evenings to work on a different instrument.

Use the following guide to determine the level of proficiency:

Beginner: Camper knows proper form and can play 1-5 easy tunes
Intermediate: Camper can already play by ear and knows 6-20 songs
Advanced: Camper can learn new tunes easily by ear and has performance experience and would like to increase skills

Please indicate the skill level of any of the following instruments:

Bluegass Camps: Fiddle, Guitar, Mandolin, Bass, Banjo, Dobro
