We are ready to launch our 2026-2027 Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) training squads. You are receiving this email because your child is eligible for the course.
The SLSA Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) and its aligned units of competencies provides members with skills and knowledge related to workplace safety, radio operations, surf awareness, aquatic rescue operations and resuscitation.
Members who hold this award and its aligned units of competencies may patrol in the role of a lifesaving cadet and as water safety personnel for SLS events. Proficiency in this award is renewed each year through SLS Skills Maintenance.
Course requirements:
- 13 years old by 26 September 2026
- Member of Cooks Hill SLSC
- Have an SLS Hub Account to access e-Learning
- Minimum 80% attendance to pass
- Swim Requirement (compulsory): you will be assessed in your ability to swim 200m in 5 minutes + 100m untimed.
Upon completion of the course, participants will gain the following nationally recognised qualifications and will be eligible to patrol of CHSLSC:
- PUAOPE013 Operate communications systems and equipment
- PUASAR012 Apply surf awareness and self-rescue skills
- PUASAR013 Participate in an aquatic rescue operation
- HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
