The following application materials, arranged in the order described, should be submitted as a single pdf document, using the upload tool below.
1. Proposed plan for completing the dissertation (maximum four pages, double-spaced) including:
  1. a brief abstract;
  2. introduction;
  3. research plan;
  4. a detailed timeline for completion.
2. An unofficial transcript that includes Fall 2025 grades. (Downloadable from my.ucla.edu.)
3. Personal statement including career goals after receiving the degree (maximum two pages, double-spaced);
4. Resume or curriculum vitae.
In addition, two letters of recommendation, including one from the dissertation chair or a co-chair, must be submitted directly to Mike Lambert by the Feb. 26 deadline. Applicants are responsible for making sure these letters have been received by this date.
