  • Pharmacy Technician CHW Certification Interest

    Would you like your pharmacy technicians to be more effective in working with patients in your community? Would you like to engage in one of the health risk assessment contracts but aren't sure how? Have you ever wondered how to help a patient who needs help accessing food or shelter? Training a pharmacy technician to be a community health worker can be an incredible service to your pharmacy and your community - and we're starting to see payment available for these services.     Pharmacy will receive

    • Code to enroll one technician in the CEimpact CHW course (or reimbursement for another Kansas course) - learn more here: https://www.ceimpact.com/chw/ - $1,500
    • Implementation payment to assist with workflow integration and technician time - $1400
    • If CPESN Kansas pharmacy, pharmacy will be enrolled in CPESN Community Health - free social determinants of health continuing education for anyone in the pharmacy, monthly national meeting for pharmacies with CHWs, and access to Community Health project contracts.

    Pharmacy Requirements

    • Support your pharmacy technician to earn their CHW Certificate
    • Engage with the Kansas pharmacy technician CHW group on Basecamp - share resources, implementation tools, and CEs
    • Implement a social determinants of health screening and referral process with the goal of at least 10 patients with diabetes screened for SDOH needs before 6/30/2026
