Serving on the Pacific Art League Board is an opportunity to shape a vibrant, community-rooted arts organization with over a century of creative impact. Our board members are stewards of PAL’s mission, reputation, and long-term sustainability, contributing their time, talent, and treasure (a minimum annual contribution of $1,000).
Board service at PAL is collaborative, thoughtful, and hands-on. Members partner with staff and fellow board leaders to guide strategy, champion the arts, and ensure the organization continues to thrive as a welcoming, creative home for our community.
Core responsibilities include:
- Setting strategic direction and policies aligned with PAL’s mission and vision
- Supporting the Executive Director and staff with insight, ideas, and advocacy
- Providing governance and executive oversight, including adherence to strategic goals and personnel policies
- Advancing resources through fundraising, donor engagement, and public relations
- Ensuring strong fiscal oversight and financial accountability
- Upholding legal, ethical, and governance best practices
- Board members attend 6–8 meetings per year, serve on at least one committee, and are expected to participate in exhibitions and fundraising events.
PAL seeks board members who bring a balance of expertise—including arts leadership, fundraising, finance, governance, and deep connections to the local community—and who believe in the power of creativity to connect, heal, and inspire.
