Why Learn Wi-Fi 7 Now?
• Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6 are evolutions of Wi-Fi, with each bringing incremental enhancements based on the technology of the era. Wi-Fi 5 (available since 2013) improved performance as more devices entered the market place, and the demand for Wi-Fi increased in all verticals.
• Wi-Fi 6 (available since 2019) improved efficiency as each user started connecting multiple devices to the same network.
Now, more than six years after the introduction of Wi-Fi 6, business networks are being asked to do something different.
Modern business environments now support far more connected devices than in the past. In many small and medium offices, it’s common to see 30–50 active devices at the same time, including laptops, phones, tablets, cameras, VoIP phones, and IoT sensors. Older Wi-Fi standards may still work today, but they were built for earlier network demands and have limited long-term support.
