「賽馬會探索科學 — 小學科學先鋒挑戰賽2026」（下稱「活動」）是一項專為高小學生而設的全港首創雙階段科學競賽，結合探究式科學學習（IBL）理念與具臨場應變元素的實作挑戰，引導學生體驗科學家的思維歷程。
作為由香港賽馬會慈善信託基金策劃及捐助的「賽馬會探索科學」計劃的重要一環，活動旨在將探究式學習延伸至課堂以外，培養學生的科學探究能力、解難能力及團隊協作精神。
參賽隊伍須運用大會提供的探究工具套及科學探索日誌進行研究，於初賽匯報成果並展示作品；晉級隊伍將於決賽應對即時實作任務，全面考驗其應變與解難能力。
JC CoolScience Primary Science Explorer Hackathon 2026 (“the Hackathon”) is Hong Kong’s first dual‑stage, inquiry‑based science competition designed for upper primary students. Grounded in Inquiry‑based Learning (IBL), it combines structured scientific exploration with hands‑on, real‑time tasks, enabling students to experience how scientists think, investigate, and work collaboratively.
As part of JC CoolScience, created and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Hackathon extends IBL beyond the classroom, with a strong focus on developing students’ scientific inquiry skills, problem‑solving abilities, and teamwork.
Participating teams will conduct investigations using JC CoolScience investigation kits and design logbooks, presenting their findings in the Preliminary Round. Finalist teams will advance to the Final Round, where they will complete live practical challenges that assess adaptability and problem‑solving skills.
