Red Apple Academy is a TK-12 community program whose mission is to champion and empower individual and family freedom in education. We are dedicated to promoting and supporting the rights of parents to choose their preferred pedagogical approaches and to serve as the primary educators of their children. We believe that every family should have the ability to tailor their child's educational journey based on their unique needs, values, and aspirations. Through our services and resources, we strive to foster a vibrant community that celebrates and nurtures independent learning.

We have three requirements to be part of our program and community:

1. We are not a school. All families must be registered with a recognized educational option:
   • Private School Affidavit (PSA)
   • Private School Satellite Program (PSP)
   • Charter School
   • Public or Private School
2. Parent/Student Handbook & Program Orientation
   • Families agree to abide by the policies in the Parent/Student Handbook and will attend an in-person Program Orientation before attending their first class.
3. Registration Fee:
   • Families must pay the non-refundable registration fee per student per year.

Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children while on campus, before and after class. This includes ensuring their child is monitored between classes and when transitioning from one class to another. Red Apple Academy is not a daycare program or a full-time school; therefore, children may not be left unattended on campus outside of their designated class times. Parents are not permitted to attend classes with their children and must be on time for pick up and class transitions.

Parents:

• are not permitted to attend classes with their children
• must be on time for pick up and class transitions
• be with their child at all times when they are not in a class
• do not allow children in plants or trees

Students may not:

• leave campus on foot
• wander in halls or the campus grounds
• play on the playground without supervision or when the playground is closed
• play in bathrooms
• skip classes that they are enrolled in to sit with parents
• climb on structures
• play in plants or climb trees
• skateboard on campus outside of an offered class

 

We understand that it can be difficult for parents to stay on campus every hour that their child is enrolled in classes. For this reason, parents have the option to participate in the Volunteer Program sponsored by the Red Apple Project. The Volunteer Program requires 24 volunteer hours per family per academic year (12 hours per semester). We greatly value family involvement and encourage all parents to contribute to our vibrant community. Volunteer opportunities and the Volunteer Sign-Up will go live in August.

High school students seeking community service hours (e.g., for setup or cleanup) are also welcome to help.

*Red Apple Academy does not require volunteer hours. Participation in the Volunteer Program is optional.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Red Apple Academy collaborates with dedicated and talented teaching professionals who offer exceptional classes. In order to maintain this high caliber teaching, families are responsible to commit to attend and pay for a full year of 32 weeks.

Non-Refundable Seat Reservation Fee
Red Apple Academy collects a non-refundable seat reservation fee for each class to reserve your child’s spot in the class. Please contact us to clarify any questions about a class before making a reservation as this payment is non-refundable.
The total tuition for the year is the reservation fee + tuition.

WITHDRAWAL & DROP/ADD POLICY
Once a class has begun, you are responsible for paying for the whole year even if you relocate, change schools, or become ill. Charter schools will stop paying for a class and prorate the amount based on the date that you deenroll from the charter. You are responsible for paying any portion of the tuition that the charter school does not pay.

Payment Options – All families are required to have an active payment plan for each academic year.

10 month Payment Plan – All classes are split into 10 monthly payments.

The total annual cost of a class is the reservation fee + tuition.

Acknowledgements  

I/WE UNDERSTAND that the breach of any of these agreements and/or rules as stated in the Parent/Student Handbook by any student or parent is subject to  disciplinary action. Any violation deemed serious may result in the expulsion of the child from Red Apple Academy.

 Confidentiality 

➢ I/we understand that I will only discuss financial issues of concern, with the Finance Administrator, rather than other parents or teachers. These matters are  confidential and should NOT be discussed with others unless there is written consent by Red Apple Academy. 

Tuition Payment 

➢ I/We understand that prompt payment of tuition and fees ensures the necessary cash flow for the operational expenses of the program and that it is a  condition for children to remain in the program.  

➢ I/We understand the registration fee is payable at the time of registration, and that tuition is divided into 10 payments due on the first of every month starting August 1st of the academic year and is considered late if not paid on the due date. 

 ➢ I/We understand that a late fee of $10.00 is charged to each invoice  if this deadline is not met.   

Scholarships 

➢ I/We understand that if I am awarded a scholarship, I am also bound by the stipulations stated in the offer letter.

 Delinquent Tuition Payment 

➢ I/We understand that if I/we neglect to pay our tuition on time, or do not make our monthly tuition payments, a temporary or permanent dismissal of  my/our child/ren may result.  

➢ I/We understand the financial assistance process must be utilized and initiated by the parent(s), and that with established procedures and parent  communication, there is no reason for an account to become delinquent.  

➢ I/we understand that if I fail to make the required tuition payments, I will not be able to sign up my child/children for any future Red Apple Academy or Red Apple Project events and classes at any  other location  until Red Apple Academy is paid in full.  

Collection Of Outstanding Tuition And Other Fees 

➢ I/We understand that if I/we incur an outstanding balance, may prevent me from being offered re-enrollment for the following academic year. 

➢ NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds)/RETURNED CHECKS 

➢ I/We understand that at any time during the year, checks that are returned from the bank unpaid may accrue an additional charge of $30.00 per  returned check and that replacement payment must be made by cash or money order. If the check is for tuition a late fee may be collected. 

➢ I/We understand that this includes any and all monetary transactions for classes, field trips, fundraisers, dances, etc

Early Withdrawal Policy 

➢ I/We understand that should my child withdraw from Red Apple Academy for any reason that a 30 day written notice is required by email.

➢ I/We understand that should my child withdraw from Red Apple Academy for any reason, appropriate administrative fees and a percentage  of the Annual Tuition amount per the Parent Student Handbook will be  assessed to my final payment or deducted from any refund due.  

➢ I/we have reviewed Red Apple Academy’s  withdrawal policy and understand  that should we choose to withdraw our student for any reason, a portion of  annual tuition may still be due or refundable based on the table below and that additional monthly payments may need to be made after the date of  withdrawal to fulfill my student’s annual tuition obligation.
