The Kendall County Community Coalition is a program of the Hill Country Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (HCCADA) which provides substance use prevention and recovery services to communities in Central Texas. HCCADA works closely with community leaders and schools to implement substance use prevention education, public outreach efforts, and local policy advocacy.
In pursuit of these goals, the Kendall County Community Coalition is conducting focus groups with youth to gain insights into how it can better support youth with effective substance use prevention strategies.
- The Kendall County Community Coalition meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Patrick Heath Public Library in Boerne, TX, in the upstairs conference room at 2:00 PM.
Your youth has been invited to participate in a focus group discussion.
-
Your youth will take part in a group discussion led by a trained adult facilitator about youth substance use, access to substances, and prevention strategies.
-
You may withdraw your permission for your child to participate at any time, and your child may stop participating at any time without penalty.
-
Information shared by your child will be kept confidential by the project team; however, because this is a group discussion, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed among participants.
-
If information is shared that suggests a youth may be at risk of harm, staff may be required to report this to ensure safety.
-
There is no payment or incentive for participating.
-
The focus group will be audio-recorded for note-taking purposes only.
-
If you have questions about this focus group or your child's participation, please contact Phil Taylor, Coalition Coordinator, ptaylor@hccada.org or call 830-367-4667.
