  • Our bike program is funded with a grant from WSDOT and is administered by Cascade Bicycle Club. The funding comes from Washington’s Climate Commitment Act (CCA). The CCA supports Washington’s climate action efforts by putting cap-and-invest dollars to work reducing climate pollution, creating jobs, and improving public health. Information about the CCA is available at www.climate.wa.gov.

    This is a hands-on, after-school program focused on bike repair, bike safety, and youth empowerment. Over 5 weeks, students will meet twice per week for 2 hours per session. The program is bilingual, equity-focused, and completely free.

    Students will:

    Learn practical bike maintenance and safety skills
    Build confidence and teamwork in a supportive space
    Receive their own brand new bicycle (to keep), along with a helmet, lock, and bike lights


    To keep the bike, students must complete the full program

Enrollment is limited, if your student is not selected for this cohort, we will notify you of the status and may keep your student on the list for the next available cohort.   • In consideration of receiving a refurbished or new bicycle (the “Bike”) at no cost from Sustainable NCW and its project Wenatchee CAFE (collectively “SNCW”), I, the undersigned, for myself and any minor children (17 years or younger) in my care (“participating child”), and my personal representatives, heirs, and assigns, agree to the following terms:
  • 1. Assumption of risk

    I understand that riding or handling a bicycle involves inherent risks, including falls, collisions, equipment failure, physical exertion, environmental hazards, and traffic accidents.I voluntarily assume all risks associated with the possession and use of the Bike, whether by me or my participating child.
  • 2. No warranty

    I understand the Bike is provided “as-is,” whether refurbished or new. SNCW or CAFE make no guarantees or warranties, express or implied, regarding the condition, durability, or fitness of the Bike for any particular purpose.I accept full responsibility for inspecting, using, and maintaining the Bike.
  • 3. Release, Waiver, and Indemnification

    I, on behalf of myself and any participating child, release, waive, and discharge SNCW, Wenatchee CAFE, and their officers, directors, employees, agents, and volunteers (the “Releasees”) from any liability, claims, or causes of action arising from injury, illness, death, or property damage related to the receipt, possession, or use of the Bike, including claims due to negligence.I also agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from any claims, losses, costs, or damages, including attorney’s fees, resulting from the use or unsafe operation of the Bike by me or my participating child.
  • 4. Insurance

    I understand SNCW does not provide insurance for injuries, damages, or losses related to the Bike. I am responsible for securing any desired insurance for myself or my participating child.
