FOR THE 2026-27 FARMINGTON AREA ARTS AWARDS

Nominators are asked to provide a current email address for their nominee so the selection committee may request additional information. Nominations submitted without an email address may not be considered in the final review.

ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE has been awarded since 1976 to talented individuals who display exceptional talent and artistic accomplishments in any type of artistic discipline. Awardees must reside in Farmington or Farmington Hills and be at least 18 years of age.

THE NANCY COUMOUNDOUROS DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE ARTS AWARD recognizes outstanding service to the community in the creative arts by an individual residing in Farmington or Farmington Hills.

ARTS ADVOCACY AWARD This award recognizes outstanding service to the community in the creative arts by a business, organization or group located in or serving Farmington or Farmington Hills. In contrast to the "Special Recognition" award, this accolade is not intended for temporary or project-based efforts, but rather for a sustained, long-term dedication to arts advocacy.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION: This is an opportunity to recognize an individual, educator, group, business or organization for providing an exceptional arts project, event, class, program, or other contributions to the Farmington/Farmington Hills community between January 1, 2024-present. Nominees for this recognition may reside outside of Farmington or Farmington Hills as long as the project took place in the community. Examples include, but are not limited to, a specific gallery exhibit, performance or event, public art installation, class project, and more.

YOUTH ARTS AWARD is a new award to recognize a talented K-12th grade student residing in Farmington or Farmington Hills who displays exceptional artistic talent and potential in any artistic disciplines.

ARTS VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR: This new award acknowledges an individual who generously dedicates their time and creativity to enhance the vitality of the Farmington/Farmington Hills community. Nominees for this award may reside outside of Farmington or Farmington Hills.
