  • Basic House Rules:

Iron House is a God-centered recovery home, not an institution. We do not require mandatory clinical treatment or traditional "sober living" requirements.

Instead, every applicant and prospective house member must complete an Initial Recovery Plan that is reviewed before acceptance. Once accepted, members are held accountable to the commitments they set in their own plan, along with basic house rules, respectful living, sobriety, and shared responsibilities. Monthly Shared Expenses (MSE) are paid by everyone unless covered by approved funding or vouchers; work may be available to help, and members are supported in pursuing income when able, but no one is forced to work or to stay. Continued stay is based on accountability and requires approval by a supermajority vote of current members and/or the supervisory committee.

Every person/ family accepted will be placed on a "trial member" status with more stringent rules until trust is built.

    Basic house rules:

curfew (10 PM unless working), complete abstinence from all non-prescribed drugs and alcohol, random UA's, weekly meeting attendance and participation, house service position, weekly / nightly chores. All prescribed medications are to be listed within your member file and kept securely in a lock box. No romantic or sexual relationships are allowed in the house or on the property.

No History of Violent Sex Crimes or Arson currently allowed

No one can be removed from Iron House without cause. Reasons for immediate removal: relapse/recurrence of use, violent / threatening behavior, not following the commitments / goals you set for your recovery in your own plan, doing just enough to get by / manipulative behavior (one foot in - one foot out). No men are currently allowed inside the house or on the property unless picking up / dropping off members and/or kids. Any violation of these rules will result in immediate removal from the house per the discretion of the supervisory committee or house members. There is no one person in charge in the Iron House program. All members accepted into the house and/or removed for cause will be authorized per the discretion of the supervisory committee and/or house member recorded voting process. You may appeal removal via a separate form to be given to you upon acceptance.

This is a basic overview of the house regulations, requirements, & procedures.  Each member accepted will receive our operations manual, housing agreement, trial member contract, and other documents requiring a signature and/or initials.
