Logan Wildlife Association is calling for passionate volunteers to join our Logan Wildlife Ambulance team, supporting the rescue, transport, and release of sick, injured, and orphaned native wildlife across Logan and the Scenic Rim.
You’ll be part of a dedicated team working alongside wildlife carers, veterinary clinics, wildlife hospitals, and the community — with a fully equipped wildlife ambulance (yes, it’s as cool as it sounds 🚑).
🐨 What You’ll Be Doing:
🚨 transporting sick, injured, or orphaned wildlife
🏥 Helping move wildlife from local vet clinics to wildlife hospitals or approved carers
🌿 Assisting with wildlife releases (the best part — happy endings!)
📞 Communicating with carers, vets, partner organisations, and the public
📋 Following Queensland wildlife legislation and safety procedures
💚 Being a calm, compassionate human in stressful situations (for animals and people)
🛠 What We’re Looking For:
🤝 Someone who can work independently and as part of a team
🗣 Great communication skills (humans don’t always speak “wildlife”)
💪 Ability to handle physical tasks like lifting carriers and longer drives
🚗 A current valid and clean Australian Class C Driver Licence
🎓 Willingness to complete required training and vaccinations
⭐ Bonus Points (But Not Essential):
🐾 Wildlife rescue or carer experience
🩺 Vet nursing or animal care background
🦇 Bat or 🐍 reptile handling experience
🚒 Emergency or disaster response experience
⚠ Important to Know:
🕒 Some work may be after-hours, late nights, or weekends (shifts/rosters will depend on volunteers availability)
💔 You may encounter injured or deceased wildlife
🐾 You will make a genuine difference for animals that desperately need help
🚨Need to be 18+ years old - and be a member of the association (Note: membership can be organised after a successful application)
